According to foreign media reports, Indian Air Force will buy 64 Hindustan Aeronautics light combat helicopter (LCH), the total amount of approximately $ 1.4 billion.
LCH is 5.5 tons heavy twin helicopter, developed since 2006, has now completed several test flights planned for two years after delivery. The aircraft will be capable of carrying air to air missiles, rockets and cluster bombs, grenade launchers and anti-radiation missiles, UAVs can be used to perform attacks and slow the aircraft, transport helicopters escorted by special operations to destroy enemy air defense systems, urban operations, attack tanks and other vehicles and other tasks. LCH will have the ability to fight high-altitude, and equipped with missile warning system, anti-missile components and to the cockpit with night attack capability, display, narrow body design will use stealth technology, the landing gear will meet the requirements of a hard landing. LCH using Indian-made gyro-stabilized sighting system, the system consists of a high-performance thermal imager and a detection range of 4 km laser rangefinder components.
