Indo-Russian Brahmos cruise missile jointly developed. Indian army is now equipped with sea-based and land-based BrahMos missiles.
RIA Novosti website April 22, 2010 Executive Airlines reported Wednesday that India’s BrahMos, Indian Air Force for 40 Su-30MKI Flanker-H aircraft equipped with BrahMos missiles.
Defence Force in the 2010 Asia Exhibition, Sivathanu Pillai told RIA Novosti interview that India will make the fleet of Russian-made fighter jets have “unique” fire. He said the air-launched BrahMos missiles first test in 2011, and the first airborne missile flight test at the end of 2012.
Brahmos missile has a range 290 kilometers (180 miles) and can carry up to 300 kg (660 pounds) conventional warhead. It can be from less than 10 meters (30 feet) in height to three times the US-made Tomahawk cruise speed (Mach 2.8), an effective attack on ground targets.
BrahMos Airlines was established in 1998, is a Russian-Indian joint venture, production and sale of BrahMos supersonic missile. Current types of sea and land launched missile has successfully completed the test, and the Indian Army and the Navy put into use.
